2011 F150 Ecoboost Transmission Service
Should the Transmission Screen / Filter be replaced during service (if there is one) or is Flush and Fill the only option? I have a little over 50,000 miles and tow a 31' RV trailer, occasionally. The Dealer service mgr says Flush and Fill is the only option. That just doesn't seem right.

According to the owner and shop manual's, transmission service is to be done at 150,000 mile intervals.

Have you personally observed the fluid color in these new transmissions at 50,000 miles? They don't have a readily accessible dipstick.
I'm thinking the Ford engineers probably know more than you or I.

I once saw the fluid on one with about 30,000 miles when it was leaking. Was definitely quite clean and not black.

There is a dipstick accessable under the truck, passenger side front of transmission housing, providing access to the transmission oil pan. Remove the 19mm cap nut, the dipstick is attached to this nut. Clean the area really good before removing the cap nut.

obusnizzle - So, the crap can build up in the convertor? Flush is the way they do it. This isn't the"old" days when you could drop the pan, yank the filter, the bleed out the convertor.
And as long as you're doing that pan-drop, why not replace it with one with a drain plug (and more capacity) for a less messy next time ...
