GunMonkey you need to learn physics and first, it was Sir Isaac Newton who discovered how gravity affected objects on the surface; next, the gravitational pull of the moon only affects the tides, and lastly you spell rudimentary like this, not ridmentry. Stop trying to put other people down when you have no idea what you're talking about. You're making yourself look more stupid by everything you're saying. It's just not working out for you, just give up!

Easy there, champ. I was, just responding to BlacKnBack's questioning my post.

You mean he didn't invent gravity? Really?
Any idea who invented sarcasm?

Umm....
Kinda, no. Everything on earth feels a gravitation pull from the moon.
Technically, everything in the universe is affected by gravitational forces from every other object in the universe.

Ever read a typo? It's a good thing you never make one - that would just be hypocritical.

Gotta love jarheads..........

I'm pretty sure his comments about the gravitational pull of the moon was sarcasm, however, the gravitational pull of the moon affect everything in minute ways, including the orbital wobble of our lovely third rock.

As far as you schooling GunMonkey, I believe his exact claim is that he is a field trainer and gunsmith, not the guy pulling the trigger. I'm not a grunt, but I know how to train soldiers on TTPs. I know many grunts who aren't commo pukes who can teach others how to use commo equipment.

Pot....kettle.....black.

And you know exactly WHAT about my qualifications? I work with a couple Marines who can outshoot me- but then, they're combat-qualified snipers. I've also known several who wouldn't know what end of the gun to point at the enemy. For every expert rifleman, there's 10 cooks and logistic clerks.

Are we about to start a d!ck measuring contest? I guess I didn't get the memo.

Thanks for the comments -

The truck was on a flat surface in a parking lot, automatic transmission and the keys cannot be removed unless it is in park position.

Yes, the disclaimer is to use the parking brake - but, the truck still does not operate as it was intended to. It is easy to say use the parking brake to make sure it doesn't happen again. But the bottom line is the truck is not functioning as we purchased it - it is under warranty and they do not have an answer for it.

The dealership said they had never heard of such an issue - then I forwarded another complaint where the same model in the same state roled in a parking lot when the owner was in a movie theatre.

Frustrated with the lack of concern and more worried about the what if scenario if it happens again and causes a terrible injury to my family or another innocent bystander that should never have happened.

When I told the Dealership I bet they did not have all their new cars with emergency brakes set and that I would bet a majority of their employees did not have them set on the lot right now - their answer was I am sure you are 99% correct.

The tone of this thread make me think you oughta shoot the truck and put it out of it's misery.

Or let one of the sharpshooters that have responded.

The truck should not roll if the transmission is actually in Park. Transmission range indicator is an indication of where the cable to the transmission is not what position the transmission is actually in. If the cable is misaligned it could indicate Park and not actually have engaged the parking pall. If this occurs you will be able to remove the key with out the transmission actually being in park. You should report this incident to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA)

They will document the incident and if enough are reported force an recall.

You know, just because someone is a sniper doesn't make them the only ones who get the training. I'm a designated marksman. That's pretty much the same thing in the marine corps. I used to be a meteorologist in the corps before I lat moved, and the only thing that the moon affects when it comes to gravitational pull is the tides.

We're still on this?

Bro, I never questioned your ability or training - I'm pretty sure that was your bag.
This started when someone questioned the sanity of using GunMonkey as my UN and I explained that it was my occupation. Then YOU launched into a capability pissing-match.

And, while we're on the record, a DM is NOT pretty much the same thing as an 0315 (Scout Sniper). DM is a temporary infantrybillet. A Scout Sniper is a seperate MOS. A DM does not have the same training, equipment, or mission application. So if by "pretty much" the same thing you mean "not at all", then you're absolutely correct.

And, finally, ONCE AGAIN, I was being sarcastic when I sugegsted that the moon pulled the turck out of park, but you're statement about the moon ONLY affecting the ocean is completely, totally and utterly wrong.

Go ask your kid's 4th grade teacher for an explanation of gravity. Go ahead, we'll wait....
