2010 F150 Mirrors
I am the proud owner of a new 1 week old 2010 F150 Lariat with the towing package that includes the large mirrors. I want to exchange out large mirrors for the standard mirrors and now am told by the dealer that this can not be done because the factory installed wiring harness is not the same. Any suggestions as I really want to loose these extra large mirrors.

The swap might not be plug-and-play, but it can be done. The guys who traded up to your type of mirror had the previous generation trucks and the mirrors bolted on, but the wiring needed some work. Nothing that can't be done though. Maybe the work wouldn't be as big a deal if you went with the same year of the smaller mirror. Try looking in the 2004 - 2008, or better yet, do a search for towing mirror. If you do decide to change them you can get rid of the towing mirrors on here pretty easily. I'm thinking about putting towing mirrors on my 2006, and I bet there are some other guys looking to upgrade too.

Ditto for an '06 F150. Love the tow mirrors, but know many that dislike them, especially my wife. She has a hard enough time judging the width of the truck with mirrors now, let alone them tow mirrors.

The 2010 Truck mirrors are "plug and play" swap, I've done it as have others, I had the smaller "regular" mirrors (heated, signal with auto chromatic part of the XTR package), and I upgraded to the tow mirrors with puddle lights, and the wire harness plugged right in and everything worked. Takes about 15-20 minutes per mirror to do the swap, I'm sure you will find an owner with an 09/10 who will do the swap with you.

PM me if your interested in talking about a possible swap. I have the smaller power, heated, anti glare mirrors that came with my 2010 Lariat SCrew. I have been considering changing them to the towing ones, but have been on the fence because of the size, pulling the truck into my garage and putting out $300+ for the tow mirrors. My mirrors are black with Dark Blue Metallic uppers.

I agree with what has been said above. The mirrors are plug and play. In my case I also switched to the tow mirrors and absolutely love them. You can see alot more and blind spots are a thing of the past. If the smaller ones float your boat then it is a simple job. Search tow mirror install on here and you will find great instuctions on how to switch them out.

I just put these on my 06 and love them. Not sure how I managed before without them.
