If so, great! combined with a relativly inexpensive cat-back chnage, it seems to be the basic set of changes for all new F-150 tinkerers.

I might have to do this if it'll fit on my 09 with a 3v 4.6 air box. Im also planning to have the cats removed and a mid pipe put on with duals. Getting rid of the cats is what made my gas milage jump up the most on my 05 mustang with the same motor.

I opened my air box also, it is already free flowing enough on the 2012. One thing fellas, if you are going to mod your exhaust and you do change out the air filter to a less restrictive one it will make it sound louder, At least if you have removed the resonator.

The snorkel is a plastic short tube that helps channel air from the fender well outside the engine bay. It runs from the air box through the fender skirt. It has a series of small holes also in it. You can remove the air filter and see it. to remove the snorkel you have to remove the air box and it twist or snaps out. search Gotts mod.

I did the gotts mod on my 09 5.4, but now I am wondering if I should buy this piece and make it pull more air through the fender. I am concerned that when cruising at low speeds (stop lights and through town) my truck is probably pulling some warmer air out of the engine bay. On the highway i dont think it probably gets that warm, but maybe. If someone gets this and has one of the bluetooth dongles and can read Intake air temps that would be the best. Try it out both ways.

I ordered one from Tasca, it was only like $3 and I grabbed another thing, shipping was $10 for two items. i will be happy to have some sort of snorkel back on there, hopefully it pulls a little cooler air vs. using no snorkel at all.

Hi" I also have a 09 with the 6.4-3 in.Eng and am trying to get information on this mod but there does not to seem to much for our size eng. I'ed like to pick your site and find out how why and what you did to help me out thank you. First of all the site mentions several p/n are they all the same or? I became confused the more I read as most of the sites were also about the 5.4 Eng hope to hear back.

Just ordered it. Under $7.00 and I am dropping in a K&N this weekend too. I already have a MAgnaflow Cat Back Exhaust system on the truck. So I shall see what happens.
