Default Interior painting

I have what I consider the ugly 2 tone tan interior..........

I want to paint my door panels black and leave the leather inserts the darker tan.

Suggestions on the best wearing paint to use?

any suggestions will be appreciated.

Sure, I did my Old Tacoma this way and it holds up well.

Take off your panel, if its going to be a smooth surface, scuff it with a 1500 scuff pad and use degreaser to get all the crud off.

Mask it, then spray with Bulldog Adhesion promoter.

Paint it, I used duplicolor engine paint, its tough and sprays well. then clear with either gloss or a matte clear, done. I did my whole truck black and it looked great, the clear helps protect it.

I absolutely hate the 2 tone tan........no combination I have looked at goes with the darker portion except black..

I am gonna give it a shot and see what happens.

Crimson, you can also stop by an upholstery shop. They have interiors dyes that work well. I dyed a dash pad on an old Camaro over 20 yrs ago, and it still looks good.

I will also check into that suggestion as well.........I have no problem painting the plastic parts, but the insert around the door handle and the arm rest are not and I am concerned about paint bonding to that.

Find a good paint shop and have them do it! I had a paint shop in Vegas paint my interior part in my NSX when I had it. You will see the difference in quality if you use a rattle can!

I would like to do that to mine too. I have a complete grey interior and I don't like it. I would like to do something with black and red ( not too much red just enough to stand out) any suggestions?
