2008 Ford F150 (Limited) SWAP with 2008 Lincoln Navigator GPS radio
Good evening to everyone,
I have recently acquired a Navigation system from a salvage 2008 Lincoln Navigator. It came complete with the head unit (Radio), Amplifier and Satellite radio module. This afternoon I plugged in the head unit and turned the vehicle on in my 2008 Ford F-150 Crew Cab (Limited) and the radio wouldn't start, it would only briefly light up the buttons for like 3 seconds and you could hear the CD changer portion of it moving inside but nothing on the screen.
I'm curious to know am I supposed to connect the Amp that came with it in order to get the radio to turn on (display something) or was the head unit suppose to turn on once I plugged in the factory harness to the head unit.
I'm wondering if I have a bad head unit because i'm thinking that the radio should of at least displayed something once connected to 12V.
Just an FYI......My old non Navigation radio had no issues at all. So power is not the issue.
Has anyone have had experience with these types of head units? Any help in this matter would be greatly appreciated!!!!!! Thank you!
