2008 F150 making humming sound, coming from the rear once I accelerate to 40 mph
Once I hit 40 MPH and higher the truck makes a humming sound. But it seems weird cause its only when I have the accelarator pedal pushed. I let off and it stops. If the speedometer is 40 and above it will humm but if it is below and I step on the gas then it will not hum till I get to 40mph again.

Ok, I hear it from the drivers side and the passenger usually says they hear it on their side. But we can both agree its coming from the rear. There are no after market pieces on. Everything is original, so no cold air intake. Thanks everyone.

could be a u-joint, try moving drive shaft and see if it has any play( does it make like a bird chirping sound? have your friend stand behind the truck when you take off and drive down the road.) could posibly be a bearing but with an 08 it shouldnt but anything is possible.
