Default 2006 FX4 Hub bearing problems

In November I replaced both front hub bearing assemblies. This past Thurs. the drivers side assembly went out again. I replaced it and today I have the same grinding noise back as when the others failed. It is just the drivers side hub, the passenger side is ok. No vibrations or anything to warn u of a problem, u just get loud crunch type noise then the grinding starts. What am i missing, can anyone tell me what to look for. Build date on the truck is 10/05. Triton 5.4. My Thanks to anyone who can help.

It's the IWE solenoid unit that controls the hubs, 4x4 system etc. A VERY common problem on the '04 - '08 models. I'm experiencing the same issue and I plan on getting the IWE unit replaced soon. According to my research it's a $60 part and if you're handy you could replace it yourself in about 10 mins. Do a search with "IWE solenoid grinding" you should get a lot of hits and even a step by step guide with pics on how you can replace the part. By the way, the IWE solenoid is located under the hood on the passenger side. I hope this helps and good day.

Thank you .. I appreciate you taking time to respond to my problem. I will check out the IWE solenoid as you suggested.

ive replaced all my IWE parts and it still hasn't fixed it on mine. so do a good investigation before you throw parts at it. could be something as easy as vacuum lines
