Iam looking into buying a 2006 F150 2WD. It has a 4.2 V6 and manual transmission, short cab and 6.5 foot bed. Iwas wondering how you would rate this truck. I have and old 1994 Explorer and want to change it. The reason I looked at an F was beacause of the larger bed than a Ranger. I dont think I will ever need more towing capacity than with the Ex, so no need for V8. Power and torque look good, and fuel economy is acceptable for me (the same as my current Ex).

My 02 F150 4.2 Auto, is the best vehicle I have ever owned or driven. I will replace it with a V-8 next go around as retirement is upon me and will want to haul my boat further distances. Mine has 179K on it. Runs perfect. I rank this truck even over my 1973 that is nominated for the Military TOTM. Check it out, currently running second to another great 70's vintage.
