Jim...thanks for the reply. To be honest, I am kind of use to double pumping every time I want to stop, but I let my buddy use my truck to move a few things and he told me he would never drive my truck again...he didn't think it would stop. That was embarrassing as heck...and he has been in my truck while I have been driving and was perfectly fine. :-)

There has to be something causing it. I mean brake systems are not rocket science...pressurized fluid pushes a piston which pushes a pad against a rotor...that's it. I can't believe the truck came from the factory like this...
I've never had to double pump mine, the pedal travel is not quite that low, but it is lower than any other car/truck I have owned/driven. That includes 8 other Fords I've had since 1975 and a bunch of E-250's we've had at work over the years. And yes it was like that from day one so I always thought that was just the way it was set.
Now the soft mushy pedal is new, since the last caliper change.
Please post if you find anything with the hoses. Again my dealer says mine is fine.

Oh I hope for the sake of yourself and others on the road that you go get this fixed right away. If you can't do the work then take it to a shop TODAY!

I lost a dear friend of mine in Highschool because they drove around with brakes that weren't maint properly. The wreck killed 3 people.

So please don't drive this truck any more until you get it fixed. You are putting yourself and anyone else you meet on the road in danger. It's not worth your life to save a few bucks.

Let us know if you figure it out, I have the same exact problem. I've replaced all 4 rotors, pads, bleed the brakes and just replaced the master cylinder and still have the soft pedals.

UPDATE - I went to a local garage (small - 2 mechanics) and he said that he sees this all the time. His opinion is that Ford should have recalled these trucks (2005 - 2008) due to faulty brake systems. Anyway, he bled the brakes again (by hand...no power system), then he adjusted the pushrod (as in video above) and made some pedal adjustment under the dash (I belive there is another pushrod there, but not sure). I have to say that the brakes are much better...not perfect, but better. I am guessing this is the best they are going to be considering the design. I am pleased...

Where do you guys live? Remind me to stay away from there. I hope for your sake you don't end up killing yourself, your family or some other people. If it were me, I would fix the brakes right, or sell the truck. Its not worth it

My trucks brakes are great. And there are many others that their brakes are great. I have heard this to be an issue with some of the F150's though.

Brakes are simple simple devices. You have a big piston pushing fluid around to 4 smaller pistons. So something still isn't right.

It also depends on the type of pad you install. ceramics are a better wearing pad and harder pedal. maybe that's the direction you guys should try.
