2005 F150 5.4 Misfire problems
Hey guys,
I'm new to the forum. Thanks in advance for any help. I purchased a 2005 F150 with 140K on the 5.4 3V. Having some problems and need some advise or experience.
When I bought the vehicle it had a miss, that I diagnosed as manifold gasket problem. This was fixed and improved the miss signifigantly, but I'm still having problems. The vehicle has a miss, like a coil issue. Specifically I have the following codes:
Misfire Cylinder 3
Misfire Cylinder 1
Bank 1 Lean
Bank 2 Rich
What I have done:
new coil pack to cylinder 3
new plugs all the way
swapped coil packs from 2 - 3 and 1 -5
spark tested coil 3 (coil 1 has come and gone, but is now back)
checked the ohm resistance of the fuel injector in cylinder 3
checked for any more vacuum leaks with carb cleaner (several times)
Any experience with this and success with fixing????
Help me I'm drowning.......

I would swap injectors from bank 2 to 1 to see if the codes follow. If they do, replace the injectors. If not, I would then do a compression test.

I also have a 2005 5.4 misfire issue. Cats were plugged, replaced with Eastern cats, no change. It happens under a load and no codes. After watching several YouTube videos, I am going to remove the right valve cover, check the timing chain and probably replace the cam phaser. If the timing chain is loose, then remove the front cover and replace the timing chain components. If the chain is tight and I still have the problem, then i will do the same to the left side. Plugs have already been replaced.
