Default 2000 Ford F-150 Cloudy headlights

Should I replace or use cleaning kit?

Honestly, its not worth the time and effort to try to clean them.. You might as well buy new, they're really cheap too.

There are some good restoration kits out there but I'm too picky. For the price you can find replacements and with the low cost of even aftermarket ones I would personally replace them. Meguiers makes a nice restoration kit though and so does rain x

I have cleaned 4 different sets of headlights with the 3M headlight restoration kit. The results have been great, except on my 2005 F150. The headlights started to yellow right away. It almost seemed like the cleaning accelerated the yellowing. On the other cars they stayed clear for a couple years before yellowing again.

I heard toothpaste will clean them too. Don't know if that's true though.

I've used toothpaste - rubbing compound works better and then follow the rubbing compound with polishing compound. They will look like new. You can use a buffer but take it easy so as not to melt the plastic.
