Default 2000 f150

my truck wont run unless you stay on the gas, i have replaced plugs,wires and coil pack on top of engine. can anyone help me get it running

U try the mass air sensor or egr valve

Do you mean it won't idle as if you start it and truck dies unless you hold your foot on the pedal. If that's the case you have a bad idle air control valve.

Have the same problem with my 2001, but it is intermittent. Seems to be more pronounced when it is near freezing. Not sure what it is, but it wasn't the fuel pump Originally suspected the PCV Valve (I'm not at all mechanically inclined). Glad i signed up for the forum, because this thread may save me a lot of headache.

Limped it in to the Ford Dealer twice when these issues were happening, but they could never recreate the failure and weren't getting any codes.
