1994 F150 oil blowback to air filter
Hi I'm new here but need help please. My 1994 F150 4x4 (inline 6) is experiencing a lack of power and recently failed a smog check. The mechanic said that oil was blowing back into the air filter & that I needed a new motor. Problem is this motor was overhauled 18 mos. ago and has only a little over 4000 miles on the rebuild. Can someone shed some light on this for me? ( the mech. did not know of the rebuild and is not very reputable.)

Take a compression reading and post findings. To much crankcase pressures will result in oil in air cleaner. Make sure oil level is accurate, as too high an oil level can attribute to this also. Another thought, with this engine just overhauled, are you sure there is a PCV valve installed and in the correct line. Sequence, valve cover, PCV valve and into intake below carburator not above carb into air cleaner.
