1987 Ford F150 Idle problem
Hi there I am kind of new to this and was just wondering if any one could give me a few ideas to start with I just got a 1987 ford F150 with A 300 6cyl it will start right up then about A minute of idle then it will idle down slowly and eventually die and wont start for nothing then come back later and it does it all over again the guy I got it from told me it was the fuel filter just wanted to see what other people thought as well thanks

yeah sounds like it could be a fuel filter, after you start it then it dies try turning the key to the acc poistion (1 before cranking) for 2secs then come back to off for 10 seconds then back to acc if it starts right up i'd say fuel filter is clogged..by doing that you do 2 cylces of of the 2sec prime from the pump and that sould be able to pass fuel thru a clogged filter
