Default I need help from the f250 guys and girls

My buddy is trying to get me to buy a 86 f250 4x4. It has the 460 in it, and it leaks oil from some where and need the rear end replaced. But it has a 3 in body lift, and 6 in suspension lift, has 42 in tires, and a 8000lb winch. Im deployed to Iraq so Id be able to fix it before I come home, the guy selling it only wants a grand for it. I guess my real question is, it worth picking it up even with the messed up rear end and oil leak? or should i just walk away. Thanks for the replies.

id take that in a heart beat, should be a carb'ed 460 but i may be wrong, like every truck probably needs a rear main seal and thats why its leaking oil. rear end rebuilds arnt bad if you know what your doing, but all together i would personally buy it

apprechiate it. I was thinking it was the rear main, my 92 f150 has the same problem.
