Why do F250's and 350's with diesel engines seem so cheap vs. f150's 2004-2006?

Default Why do F250's and 350's with diesel engines seem so cheap vs. f150's 2004-2006?

I can't seem to figure it out, but I know nothing about the f250/350. Why is it when I look online right now I can buy one with between 110-170k miles for between 12-15 thousand? I can't seem to find an f150 for that price. Most seem to have the 6.0 diesel as well, which should run forever correct? What would be the advantages/disadvantages to owning one of these? I don't need a F250 but if I can buy them cheaper with a diesel engine is that a bad idea? Sounds like fuel mileage is as good or better with the diesel.

from what ive heard the 6.0 is not the best, if i was to buy a diesel it would be a 92-97 7.3 turbo. i had one for about a week, then my parents found out and got pissed so i sold it (i was 16 at the time lol) made money on the deal so i guess it wasnt all that bad

SD's are cheaper because they are bigger. people dont want to buy big trucks because they think the mileage is worse, even though its about the same. plus with the recent spike in diesel prices (summer of 07) theyre value has gone down because diesel hasnt gone down enough to make it worth it. With the cost of diesel near the price of gas it makes the triton engines comparable to a diesel to the everyday homeowner.

It is the 7.3 you want, but take it all the way to 02 instead of 97. We have 2 of them for work, and theyre over 100k with no problems, one has 130k with only minor wear and tear issues, and we work the crap out of those rigs.

Yes, you can get a great price on SD's because they are big and diesel gas is very expensive right now. Once the economy recovers people will be more willing to spend the money on gas.

^^^ That and when diesel comes back down cheaper than Reg. unleaded. People are buying cheaper because they are buying what they need. if they NEED a truck theyll get a gas motor because its far cheaper than the diesel engine that they WANT. but if you NEED a diesel, nows the time to buy used ha ha.
