What do you guys think about this 460

Well I've been wanting a older truck for hunting and off roading and this bad boy is for sale in town. I called the guy and he told me its an 89 with a 460 and 109,000 miles. It's a manual. This is the only pic I have. But weren't 89s the newer body style that came after this one? And what would I look out for when I look at it. And what are some common things that go out that I should anticipate having to fix in the near future?
Guy said he's had it about 8 months and it never broke down on him and fires right up every time he needs it.
I'll find a forum more suited for f250s than a f159 forum if I get this but I don't want to join one to get people's thoughts on the truck.

I didn't look under it or look under the hood but I walked around it and the body is straight the paint is just in terrible shape. I think that could just be from the truck spending its whole life here. Harsh winters and they use TONS of road salt here. I don't think the paint on a 20+ year truck should be an issue when buying one. They're all going to have rust and peeling paint.

Dodge+Ford = always ready
like bryson said, thats not an 8th gen, thats a 7th gen. and for 1,000, aslong as she ran good. you would only be out about $500 if you took it straight to the scrap yard. so it would be good for what you are looking for.
