On a stock truck (with DPF delete) and a good economy tune you can get 20mpg no problem if you don't hotrod it. Add tires, lift, heavy foot and aggressive tuning and watch that take a nosedive. The 6.4 is one of the most powerful trucks pound for pound when tuned (Spartan makes a great tuner for the 6.4).

Yeah if you keep the suspension and tires stock and put on a good set of Michelin MS2s I don't see why you couldn't get good mileage from it. It will just ride rougher than what you might be used to.

My deleted and tuned 6.7 with highway gears 3.31s on stock 18s with Michelin ltx at2 gets 25mpg at 72mph. My avg tank nets me 20 overall (50gallon tank so lots of different driving). I get 15-20 in town depending on my happy foot. And 15 towing my windsail of a bumper pull travel trailer, at 63-65.
If you do 2mile trips to work and the store, the diesel won't suit you.

I would be using my truck about 30miles to work everyday someways with more driving then other days + towing 14000lb trailer the odd time. Mostly looking at diesel due to fact it's cheaper then gas plus company pays $700 monthly plus $0.30 for every km traveled for work

What! Why the heck is it 50¢ more expensive around me in south FL? That's weird. Guess you learn something new every day lol I had no idea it was cheaper elsewhere
