Theft Prevention
I live in San Antonio, TX, and theft of 4x4 and heavy-duty trucks is a major problem, regardless of neighborhood. A Ram was stolen from my neighborhood last night. And, a few months back 12 tailgates were stolen on a Friday night. My neighbor's tailgate was stolen last year and they tried to get mine because I found a ball mount in my yard. But, I keep my tailgate locked so they didnt get it.
What are some good theft deterrents if you cannot be close by to keep an eye on your vehicle? I may buy an F-250 soon and I sure dont want to lose it. Are these trucks easy for a pro to steal?
Thanks,
JP

Beer, Boats, and Trucks.
Keep a spot light in front of your house on and aimed at the truck all night

Any vehicle is easy with the right tools and if the thief is good enough. Motion-activated lights and a camera on it would be a good start. You can't prevent theft if the desire is great enough, but you CAN set up ways to get it back (or get a replacement).

This is what you need. Aim it at truck, when movement in detected, alarm sounds in house. Then go outside locked and loaded

I also bought a video camera surveillance system that will send out an alert by email.
So I spoke to a dealer today and he said the LoJack system is pre-installed in the 2016 Super Duty trucks and its a $500 one-time activation fee with no money subscription fee. I don't know if this is the 'early warning system'. Didn't know enough about them to ask at the time I spoke to dealer.
