Default Super Duty vs. Ram 2500 6.2 vs 6.4

Currently have a 2010 crew cab f150. Paid off, under 50k on it, overall like the truck. It is leveled, have the wheels blacked out, sharp looking ride.

However, I am itching to get something new. Always wanted a Supeduty although I don't tow much at all, and if I do, my F150 handles it no problem. Mainly, I like the looks of HD trucks much more. Always have. I will likely drive less than 8-10k a year. It will cost more to own an HD truck and I understand that.

Been looking at the Ram 2500 with the 6.4 Hemi and they are a nice truck. Mainly looking at the Tradesman line, which is about the same as an XLT. Big, tall sitting truck with a nice interior. Can get one with nice options in the mid to high 30's.

Superduty with same or fewer options cost a bit more, maybe 2k or so. Checking KBB on prices of 2014 models, the Superduty appears to have a higher trade in value.

So what reasons should I pick the F250 over the Ram? Why did you make that decision? Pro's and con's? Guys say the Ram's ride much nicer, but I haven't drove either yet and expect both to ride like trucks.

I have had trouble with my current truck, most of which were made worse by terrible dealer service. I will purchase at a different Ford dealer this time. I have rocker panel rust already and it is aggravating based on how well I care for our vehicles. So that's why I'm looking at the Ram also. And I had two Ram 1500's in the past with few problems. Thanks.

I got a friend who has a Ram 2014 nothing but problems it would just die at the lights and we could not even get the spare down on a camping trip. Guess they forgot to put all the parts in to allow the tire to come down. Opps.

I would never buy a 3/4 ton truck I would buy a 1 ton instead...

If buying mainly for looks, going for a 1 ton over 3/4 ton makes no sense. Hope your buddy had his issue fixed. Don't see many complaints about the new Rams.

It's been fine since. He was pretty upset until it was resolved. He can get the tire down now.

I got a friend with a 2007 Dodge mega cab. I really like the mega cab and was really looking at them before I settled on the F150

Yeah I really like it. Ride is different from my F150 of course. Better at times, worse at others. Dropping the FX4 shocks for Rancho adjustable's may be in the future.
