I wouldn't get rid of the truck. Lol. Sounds like a nice rig. If you can swing it get a little beater car to get back and forth to school. That way you can have it both ways.

That's two insurances to worry about, also. I guess I can't have my cake and eat it too.

My truck has a four speed auto transmission and it's really not meant for highway driving. If it had a 6 speed manual I would never get rid of this truck because the overdrive would let me cruise highway at lower rpms. And I would have a granny gear. How much would that run? Would it be practical? Or should I just look into an f150?

Have you thought about finding a manual and having it swapped out? And I understand about the two insurances. Lol. You really are between a rock and a hard place. If you're going to school in an area that doesn't see much snow is say get s bicycle to offset the fuel cost. But if your like me and live over 15 miles away from where you're going, that probably wouldn't do.

Bus Pass.....till you save enough to get a really good set of wheels. Buses run everywhere when you are in college. You will still be able to get laid all you want without a truck while in college so dont worry about that. Save your $$ till you have enough to pay cash and enjoy your college time and concentrate on graduating.

That would be a good truck. Any upgrades to it? And it won't get good mileage without a tuner and some other modifications. Also, make sure you put some diesel additive in the fuel every so often. Otherwise you'll think your injectors are going out.

It's an XL base model no add ons. Not cruise control or electric windows. And it has a few new parts. I posted a different thread with all the specs. About it

Link? 7.3's are my favorite engine. The HPOP is what makes them expensive. If it woulda been a common rail fuel system they would probably still be in production
