Question Replacement Tires for a Superduty

It's time for tire replacement. I know the truck comes with Load E (10 ply) tires and tire pressures of 55psi (front) and 70 psi (rear) but is this really neccessary if your not carrying heavy loads in the truck. As anyone down graded to Load D (8 ply) tires and if so what pressures do you run in them?

Also, what tire pressures do you run in your Load E tires?

I do tow a travel trailer but only half a dozen times a year.

Thanks

when I had my f250, I had remington mud brutes and i think they were 8 ply and I would run 45 psi on them and had no problem pulling my gooseneck horse trailer or 32 foot travel trailer.

I put some 8 ply goodyear silent armors on my 2500 ram, the diesel was chewing up tires with all that torque, I killed a set of dueler revos and a set of rugged trails in my first 55k miles, but the goodyears held up a lot better and held almost as much weight. I ran them at 60 psi (the max). I have heard good things about the bf goodrich at's though...

Ok Time to Test my goodyear expertise.First a load E tire is a 10 ply rated dosnt mean it has 10 plys most tires only have 3-4.But yes you can down grade to D rated tires with no problem.only differance is instead of 80psi max its 65 psi max.I run 37/13.50R18 on my F250 and i only run 34psi in the tires.reason is the tire will wear evenly.only run max PSI for heavy loads and Towing.so for daily driving id run 32-35 in your tires and a plus is it will ride very smothly.....hope this helps
