A bed shouldn't rip from a toolbox falling off a bedrail, it just shouldn't happen lol. Also I watched that Chevy commercial and that's how they've always loaded my truck at the gravel yard (which is why I never get my own gravel anymore lol). Bottom line I think Ford needs to work on this issue, I know for a fact I'm not buying an aluminum pickup. I'm sure people said that about not buying an engine with aluminum heads and such, right now it's just too new and not working in my personal opinion.

lol you did read they did the test on 15 fords and Chevys and took the worst ford and best Chevys? Did you also read that 3 Chevys also suffered holes but they didn't show those trucks? And did you realize gravel vs cinder blocks are completely different, don't believe me? I'll dump a bucket of gravel on your head and drop a cinder block on your head, you tell me which is worse lol

Maybe I'm lucky. I just took my bedliner out to try this one out. I pushed my metal toolbox off the bed rail like they did in the ad multiple times and no hole. Maybe they made things better 18 years ago than they do today, but I'm still sticking with the tried and true steel trucks.

As far as gravel, the yard sells a bunch of crap. Dirt, gravel, fill material, you name it. Maybe I should've said "material yard"? Either way, you won't find me in an aluminum pick up anytime soon.

So the aluminum bodies tearing like tin cans isn't an issue? Dropping a toolbox and making a hole in the bed isn't an issue? Ok, I guess I'm worried over nothing but if I'm spending 40k+ I don't want that to happen.

one it doesn't rip a hole every time, like I said the better fords didn't and the worst Chevys did, which is why they took the worst ford and showed the best Chevy. Hope you don't want to buy a new truck anytime soon as Chevy and dodge both plan on releasing all aluminum trucks in the next few years and I suspect the other manufacturers won't be far behind them. Which it also makes it even funnier Chevy is bashing aluminum, I can't wait to hear how they back track once they start selling them

Right now I'm looking at buying a 2016 F-250 with the 6.7L Powerstroke or a 2016 Ram 2500 with the 6.4L Hemi. I won't buy into aluminum yet as clearly issues are arising and I'm not one to put my money down to be a guinea pig.

Good luck with your purchase. It's good to have choices.
