Opinions on the new 6.7L Powerstrokes

My 6.4 tuned would push 65 psi without hesitation. But I think the hpfp may have been backed off on output from the 6.4's output. I think they over compensated on the 6.4 to be able to put out enough fuel to handle the DPF regening only to find out they only need to inject the two rear cylinders on the exhaust to accomplish regeneration.

My father has one in a f350 and naturally i try to drive it as much as possible haha. first off the things quick! secondly, he gets 15 mpg town 20 hwy with only 5k miles on it. everyone i know that owns one either for work or a sunday truck absolutely loves it. no problems ive heard on anything for anyones truck. imo, best truck out there right now and so far seems better than the 7.3. looks good too!

They turbo is a major weak point. It's basically maxed out from the factory, so if you have plans on tuning it you'll probably run into issues with higher boost. Also, the engine bay is a nightmare.... Everything is water cooled which means there is literally 3 million coolant hoses in there. The EGR system takes up half the engine bay and is majorly complicated. It's by no means a drive way mechanics truck either, it's extremely cramped and will give you a headache just looking at it.

While the turbo is the weak point, its a balancing issue, nothing to do with boost, stock is failing too. 12s got a super balance to help. The rods are suspect. And the egr isn't that big. I work in mine in my garage

The working on the truck in the drive way comment was also a comment for the masses. Not very many superduty owners have the ability, tools and want to work on their truck in the drive way, I do not consider that a "drive way mechanic" vehicle. Diesels can be difficult if youve never worked on them before, and over the last few years have become very complex with the heavy requirement on computerized tools. Lets face it, open that hood and take a look... it's going to scare away the majority of the owners away before they even get started, which is what I was refering to.
Guess I have to watch what I say... didnt realize everything was taken 100% literally here.
