Well 5000 miles and truck says oil life ok? Is this normal?

Mine does the same thing. I just continue doing oil changes on the required intervals

On my 2014 PSD(and all other diesels) I chose 5k intervals w/Delo 5w40 synthetic, because I could get it at my local store easy enough. Powerstrokes are hard on oil, I feel 5k is a good interval and very easy to remember! At 5k your oil is black black.
