Might be to soon to ask a couple questions...

Comparing the turning radius of both trucks. Do you think it turns as tight? Parking the camper at the house is a tight turn for me.

How's your fuel mileage?

Have you look at the service info yet? What is the recommend mileage for oil, fuel filter and coolant changes?

Thanks!

The turning radius on the F-150 is a little better. This is due in part to the length of the F-250 being greater. It easily turns as tight as many of the older F-150's and Chevy's I've had in the past. I'm on my third tank of gas so I don't know how it will be long term. However, so far I'm seeing around 14MPG in the city and 17-18MPG on the highway. In contrast my F-150 got about 14.4MPG after switching to heavier wheels and tires, as well as pulling the air dam. Before that I got around 18MPG. Granted I'm more aggressive with the F-150 than I am with the F-250. The latter does feel somewhat more truck like and is a little "floaty" compared to the F-150. That said, the F-250 doesn't feel worse than other trucks in this regard. It's just that the 2015+ F-150's are unusually sporty for pickups.

The service intervals as I understand it (and according to the diesel supplement manual) are not fixed. The truck's computer tells you when you need to change your oil based on how it's being driven and under what conditions. If you tow a lot it will recommend an interval as low as 3,000 miles. If you just drive around on the highway to and from work, the interval could be as high as 10,000 miles. I'm not sure what the intervals are for the air filter or coolant etc. I will have to go back and look at the manual. I hadn't given this too much thought as I've only got about 700 miles on mine right now.

My gas mileage on my 150 also dropped 3 or 4 miles per gallon switching to bigger E rated tires. But I had too pulling the camper. The factory tires were all over the place.

Thanks for the info!

I have never seen a payload capacity for an F-250 that low before. Is that all because of the 10,000 GVWR Package?

It's due to the fact that I have virtually every option available on these trucks. The only thing the Lariat Ultimate package doesn't have is the massaging seats the Platinum comes with. This truck has everything King Ranch comes with standard and more. Basically you can't load this sucker down with anything that weighs significantly more. The 10,000lbs. GVWR package won't effect that. I plan on getting the rear block for an F-350 and potentially grabbing overload springs and seeing if they can be installed or going with an add a leaf or something to prevent the rear from squatting down too much while loaded down. Functionally there isn't too much difference between an F-250 and an F-350 aside from the overload springs and rear block.

Airbag it. I am installing airlift 5000's on mine this weekend.

That may be the route to go. I am looking into it.

Functionally yes, but legally, no. Damned Lawyer tags. Interesting enough heading into Nebraska on I80 from Colorado all trucks including pickups with trailers are required to weigh. There is a scale built into the roadbed though prior to the scales that preweighs you along with a camera that they monitor. I got the OK to bypass, but the guy behind me with a 5th wheel did not. He had a Ram 2500 with a BIG trailer. I don't know if they tagged him to come in, or was just pulling in to rest.

What is even more interesting, the second weigh station stated recreation vehicles exempt, but the first one did not.

What are the capacities for the engine oil? Also do you have to check the anti freeze periodically still with additive strips? What about the DEF tank, how much does it take and how long does it last?
