New here well for upgrading to a bigger truck.
I was wondering if there is any difference with a dually then a regular single tire? i am interested in purchasing a f 350 soon, but not sure on some certain specs.
What year is good to purchase? am looking around 2004-2008
and xlt is good? am really using this truck for daily driver/camping trips/ vacation trips/ maybe mudding not sure.

XLTs are good trucks, power everything but none of the fancy stuff like leather or heated seats. The dually is much wider, so you lose maneuverability. You also are spreading your weight out, so you lose traction in mud/snow/rain. But, you can tow quite a bit more and your payload is much higher.

Just keep up on the basic maintenance, any repairs are going to Expensive. Look up some other superduty/diesel forums and see what problems there have been and what they suggest. I don't use one every day, so I'm not the best to ask.

alright thanks for your help, and do you know if they are good gas savers? i saw another thread saying the more mods you add in a diesel truck the more gas you save, thats true? but for sure am looking foward in buying a 350 in less than a month!

I'm not sure on the powerstrokes, I've heard they get upper teens for mpg most of the time. My roommate has a '97 Cummins that's chipped, piped, cai, and he fixed up the turbo. He gets 22-23 hwy all the time and has around 450hp...

I really am looking to upgrade my ford 150 and get myself a 350, maybe a 250 not sure, but i want to use it for major things as pulling mobile homes, and also taking it camping or vacation trips.
