Cummins in the F650/750
Just browsing Ford's site looking at stuff when I noticed that the F650 and F750 only come with a v10 or a cummins diesel.
Why would ford not use their own 6.7 diesel rather than a cummins in these big trucks?
Also noticed that the 6.7 powerstroke advertised in the 250-350 superduties is rated at 400hp and 800ft lbs, while the same(?) 6.7 powerstroke advertised in the chassis+cab configurations(450-550?) in the commercial section, is rated at 300 hp and 660ft lbs.
What gives ?

I suspect that is because the likelyhood of the chassis cab trucks of running loaded is greater than in the 250/350s. (I know it doesn't right at first) I think the 6.2L is rated slightly less in the superduty than it is in the raptor.
The explaination I heard was it gives it greater long term reliability when working under heavy loads.
