manual transmission fluid

I have a 2000 7.3 powerstoke f350 with 6 speed tranny wat type of fluid does it need and can I use 10w40 motor oil in the tranny any help please

Mercon V should be the correct fluid for your tranny...not sure what brands are out there.

That's right... Mercon V. It sounds strange to put ATF in a manual tranny, but that's what it calls for.

yep, use auto tranny fluid. When I changed mine in my 95 I went by my mechanic which is a retired ford mechanic to find out what to use
