All aboard the NOPE train!

I'll keep my 2014, steel body, aggressive yet beautiful, real truck. Thanks but no thanks ford. Sure it is for someone, that someone is not me!

Nice truck...however...

Everyone knows the 05-07 was the best looking years. Ok maybe just me, but that was a classy tough truck. For somereason Ford went to a softer rear spring in 11 and the trucks always have the California lean going on.

It's not just you. 05-07 was my childhood favorite truck. It is also the reason I love the 08-10 and 11-16 F250s. They carried over a lot of the looks I loved, while giving me the updated interior i desire.

Interior on the 2017 KR is almost enough to make me THINK about switching to the dark side. It's not enough though. Really think ford should do a middle ground model where they use the old body style with the newer interior. No the color is not enough for me I want the whole shabang I like the darker KR leather but they didn't darken the wood trim inside the 15-16 models, so it just bugs me.

I've had at least 1 of every Super Duty made since an 89. My 09 F550 Lariat was still my Favorite. The 2017 SD have improved frame, front to back drivetrain, bigger brakes, bigger cab, and lighter weight than your SD. Not sure I wouldn't call it a "REAL TRUCK", when it's more capable and larger than yours.....

The super duty's got their own body style almost 20 years ago, and now they're integrating the F150 components back into them. They could greatly benefit from a larger cab.
Which is why they made the 2015 F150 wider and longer. The 2017 SD cab will be larger than the 99-16 SD cab, which is nice. The old cab was cramped.

That's why i didn't get the super duty when i was looking at trucks. Lol. After sitting in a 13 F150, the super crew super duty just didn't feel right.

I don't think I'll ever consider an aluminum body truck to be a real truck. That is just my personal opinion. I also do not consider being lighter to be a good thing with any truck, heavier the better IMO. Cab being bigger is not a concern for me as the Crew cab SD is plenty big for me and my family. I love the look of the interior on the 2017 SD though.

Biggest factor for me is the body materiel. I believe that a truck should be able to take a hit without the metal cracking and tearing. Aluminum time and time again has proved to do this. If the truck had a steel body I would just call it ugly and that would be it. It's going to take years before I even think about owning an aluminum truck. Steel is just more resistant to tearing and just ends up denting. Frame, brakes, suspension, engine, drivetrain, it can all be better than my truck and I'll still walk away from the aluminum.

Your 09 is gorgeous by the way. Utility trucks had always looked extra good to me for some reason.

End of the day it's your money, buy what ever you want. You won't see me in one unless I'm ripping out the interior to try and retrofit it into my truck

I consider Peterbilt, Kenworth, Freightiner, all real trucks. They all have aluminum bodies that last MILLIONS of miles. I have no reservations about aluminum truck bodies. It is harder to dent and stronger when used in the correct thickness, which Ford has proved with the F150's. The SD beds are even thicker.

I don't consider them trucks, I consider them rigs. They are not designed to go off road, or do much outside of hauling trailers. When I picture a truck in my head I do not see a big rig, nor anything wrapped in aluminum. Again that's MY opinion.

I prefer dents to metal deformation which is what I see happening when 2015 F150s get struck. You are right, It is harder to dent. But WAY easier to break or deform. Dents can, most of the time, be pulled out and straightened.

Look, I'm not incapable of changing my opinion. 10 years down the road when I'm ready to look at another truck, if they have held up well, then I might look at the 2027 model. Assuming they are still using aluminum 10 years from now.

Right now I don't trust it. That's why I bought a 2014, and that's why I wont trade it in for a 2017. You can trust whatever you want. My opinion shouldn't matter too much to you. I wont insult you for spending YOUR money on one. Hell, I don't even call people on owning a Dodge, even though I would never buy one.
