Lookin at 2005 F350 6.0 & need a couple opinions
Hey Ford drivers,
I'm looking to get into a 6.0 PSD. I've had a Dirtymax in the past so i'm pretty familiar with what it takes to own a diesel. Anyways I found this one here.

The truck was a fleet vehicle in Minnesota. Its had the injectors replaced, along with egr... etc.

Should I be worried about buying a fleet vehicle?
Any input would be really really appreciated

It being a fleet vehicle means it probably got good maintenance, however it also means it was probably used for hard work, and the fact that it doesn't belong to any single person, so they treat it that way.

Same issues? No.
I've never seen a 6.4 blown headgasket, EGR cooler, they rarely go through injectors.
Really the only common issues with 6.4's are chafed injection pump harness and faulty single o-ring upper rad hose.

People are scared of these trucks, so they can be had for a good price. And if you do your homework, fix the common problems, you can have a solid truck when it's all said and done.

Leaking radiators, EGR failure, DPF failure, the fact that the engine bay is so much more crammed than a 6.0, meaning almost every repair is cab off.
Really, the only time 6.0s are failing is when people fail to bulletproof them, tune them with a 190hp tune, then hot rod them; tow way too much; drive forever without monitoring engine vitals.
A good coolant filter, the right coolant, an EGR delete and an upgraded FICM and the truck will be fine for normal use. That will prevent premature injector failure, oil cooler clogging, and excessive pressure in the cylinders causing TTY bolt stretch.
NOW, if I had the money, I would get a 6.4, they are very fast once bulletproofed and cranked up.
