I originally thought I broke a u joint, but appears not? All that broke were the top 2 bolts on the u joint straps? I'm replacing u joint anyways though but does anyone know why this would happen other then all the burn outs, like is it the lift? If anyone knows why it happened how do I fix it?

Its caused from axle wrap that lifted vehicles are prone to and all the burnouts. If you plan on doing this alot get drive shaft hoops and billet u joint caps so no one dies if it comes loose. And trac bars will sort out the wrap. Google precision metal fab. He specializes in lifted fords.
