How about another gasser 6.2 by choice
Here is my new 2012 F250 XLT FX4 package. around 14 MPG currently but only 200 miles on her so far. Traded my 12 Ecoboost in on it and love it from day one, cant wait to take a road trip to see how it goes overall so far only short trips and to work and back.. I am glad to have the rear slider and heavy frame, it really feels a lot better on the road to me anyway and plenty of room. I have the powered mirrors and 3.73 with E locker.. I love the fact I can actually reach the oil dipstick and it appears oil changes will be routine again. I am happy with my new toy.

Too bad they didn't put the ecoboost in a truck that could actually handle the cargo capacity to handle the 11,300 lb towing capacity(unless you get the HD payload pkg). As for buying a 350 with a gas engine means I did not want to waste $8000+ to have a diesel just for the sake of owning one. If you are not making money with a diesel or towing heavy load several time a week than $8000 can buy you a lot of gas. I may only put 10k per year on my truck so it would be a long time before it gets worn out. I use it to tow our 8000lb+ camper 10-12 times a year, carry my mower around in the summer, and use it for long trips and vacation. I owned a 06 Duramax and it was quite the truck but after all these emission stuff installed on the new diesels cause more problems and reduce feul mileage. So I will take the $8000 I saved and the extra fuel and maintence costs and use it to take a few more camping trips. Just my thoughts.

I really considered diesel, but a few things from my foxhole.. i have no Diesel stations between home and work which means I drive 20 miles simply to get diesel - not good. 7K additional cost not good. DPF, EGR remove voids warranty. If you do the Deletes may as well add another 2K for a tuner. Adding another fuel filtering system to prevent water from ruining the fuel system to the tune of 10k if Ford doesnt cover it. unfamilarity with regen cycles, hearing high fuel usage during regens. Adding Urea - additional expense.. I am glad folks have the option to choose, but for me ill stick with the gasser that I have had for 40 years of driving.. My kubota tractor is diesel and all i do is fill her up and add oil along with some filters, all is good, but I really think for me, i am ok with my choice. May be a tradeoff but diesel fuel is about 30-50 cents higher than gas too. I am sure there are counterpoints to each of my opinions too.
