i bet the majority of people turning in old trucks getting 9-12 mpg went out and bought new trucks that are getting 14-18 mpg. is that really a difference to spend all that money on and destroy perfectly good trucks over?

dont get me wrong, im all for better gas mileage, but only for my wallets sake. and if they think im ever gonna switch over to anything less than a V8 in my truck, hell no. i dont care how much better mileage it gets.
I feel the same way.. just dont get it.. I really hate the fact that everything gets so wrapped around stupid thing when theres so much more important to get to. Things like these will easily work themselves out over time anyway. I mean if that truck didnt go through cash for clunkers it would be sitting in a junk yard someday soon anyway, thats the natural cycle for vehicles.. Dont see how enticing people to buy a car they cant afford with little job market is going to help anyone.. I'll never get it. That truck could have made some body a great cheap vehicle and helped them till they had a good job to finally buy a brand new car.. instead they were all just blown up.. wasteful.

The benefit to the environment of taking that so called 'clunker' off the road was ruined by all that burning oil seen in the last minute of the video.
Well, at least the auto dealers made some money on this program and some people with money and jobs got a smokin' deal on a new toy they were gonna buy anyway.
So glad I could help em out
