F250 vs F350

Thanks for all the feedback guys.
I like that this F350 has the 11,500 GVWR package and I'm not sure if it's part of the package but it also has the fifth wheel under bed frame already installed with electrical connector in the bed. This truck will be used to tow a fifth wheel camping trailer but just not sure what size yet.
Not sure if this deal is going to go through, they won't budge on the $42k price (KBB lists it at $40k, excellent condition, private party sell, which is always the highest.) and they are about $2k low on the trade ($26k). You can tell business is good, their not negotiating or even working for it.
They either gave too much for it in trade or their trying to make some good money.

The overload spring comes with the camper package, it is not specific to the f350. The 350 has a taller block in the rear and heavier axle shafts. The spring packs are the same between 250 and 350 assuming option packages are the same. Frankly the overload springs are a non-issue because when the truck is empty youll probably not touch them. Unless you plan on a big front bumper and a winch (or a snow plow) avoid the plow prep package. That WILL give you a very stiff ride in the front. I have a 350 with the 11,500 package / no plow prep, and it rides surprisingly soft for the payload available. There is very little additional cost for the 350 and it can LEGALLY carry a lot more weight. The only issue is availability because fewer are produced and they don't get traded in at the rates 250's do.
P.S. Theyre not coming down on the price because they're confident that it'll sell reasonably soon at this price, and it will. If you like it, jump on it. Its a locomotive of a truck and the first time you pull a big trailer you'll be all smiles. I love mine.

With the Ford pucks, I know of two options for hitches; the Reese at about $1300 and the B&W RVK3300 for about $900. You could also get the Anderson for the gooseneck. I already had a Reese 16K above bed from my F150, so I got the Reese 30156 puck adapter that allows a standard hitch to be used with a puck system. The problem is that it raises the hitch 2" so my fiver rides nose high. Wish I had gone with the B&W instead.

0.9% is for suckers!
the inner axle itself (inside the axle housings) used to be different (2012) diameters from F250 and F350, I would have to look at detailed specs to know again for sure, maybe on the newer ones they just change the plastic emblems.
