F250 Reliability?
Looking at buying a new/ new to me truck and strongly considering a F250 diesel. I previsoly owned a 2006 Dodge 2500 diesel which was a great truck but sold it due to selling my business and replaced it with a F150. I will be buying a travel trailer/ 5th wheel in the near future so I want to be capable of handling either option. I would like to get a 2012 or newer so please help me out on the reliability side.

I have a 2014 f350 with 9k miles on it great all around truck and have had no issues and I haven't heard of really any issues on 2013-2015 models. If your doing a 5th wheel you will want to look at the 350 not 250 because of the beefier rear end the bed can handle a bit more weight. Cost difference is literally a few hundred dollars.

I have always been told that the 350 is identical to the 250 same springs, shocks, rearend, etc. ONLY difference is that the 350 has a 3" block in the rear and the 250 has a 2". I don't have any facts due to not researching myself but that's what I have been told by Superduty owners.

F350 is not out of the question but I don't want a dually. I (we) are trying to decide between Crew Cab Super Duty 4x4 with trailer/5th wheel vs Class C and a Tacoma.... I have to replace my current F150 either way and cost seems to be the same with either option. it's me, the wife and a infant and 5 yr old and we enjoy traveling quite a bit which will include everything from Florida to Colorado and who knows where else.... we live in S. Louisiana

Last time I looked it was $900 more for a 350. You get an extra spring one each side and realistic towing numbers. Just get the 350.
OBTW, our dually option was $500 more. It's not that scary, and can haul a crapload more.

I can't get a dually into my garage and really we are looking for something around 27' range no longer then 30' and prefer something 1/2 ton tow able so ultralite
