Default Sterling 10.25 pinion shaft length

Can anybody tell me approximately when Ford changed over to the longer pinion shafts ?
We've got a 96 P/stroke F350 4x4 and a 93 IDIT F350 4x4 donor truck for it. Wondering if they're both the better pinion shaft or not. Both are 10.25 full float's.
Any opinions would be appreciated.

Answered my own question. For anybody who was interested - 92 was the last year for the short pinion, 93 to 98 was the long shaft, 99 they went to the 10.50 ring gear but apparently used a smaller pinion bearing. So it would seem that 93 to 98 are the best years for the 10.25 full float, from what info I can gather.
