I picked the smart car option. I'd rather drive that death trap than heve to deal with the 6.0/6.4 liter, lol. But seriously, the gas F250s are great in my book, I just can't stand the super problematic international diesels. Hopefully, Ford will shut me up with the new 6.7 liter diesel. Looks to be a badass motor.

Funny you dont see any Toyotas on there when O yea thats right they are the ones who are acutally killing people with sticky gas pedals. The jokers who wrote that article prolly are the same ones that are all about saving the world with their prius'

i looked into the new 6.7 at the chicago auto show. i was with a bunch of guys going to school for diesel mechanincs so most of it went over my head lol. the main thing that caught my attenion is that the turbo setup is a dual turbo, one inside the other. also the exhaust ports are in the middle of the engine kind of, its like they are upside down. im not sure if they chose to change up the manifold setup, and had to cramp the turbos or if they just wanted an excuse to try a new turbo setup lol

They put the Turbo in the V of the engine so it is as close as possible to the intercooler and the intake.

close turbo = no turbo lag.

I guess my early build 03 F250 6.0L PSD is a dead horse then? At 145K miles it's only been to the dealer twice for the harness chaffing recall and a reflash. I get 18-21 mpg on the highway and 14-16 mpg towing. For a vehicle that can pull stumps, I have no complaints compared to what my 350 GM gasser used to drink. In an accident I can't think of a better vehicle to walk away from a crash in. The F150 obviously rides and handles better though.

CR want's us all to roll in Nanos and Smart Cars

Yeah so they took a brick and threw leather around it and some fancy wheels.... ITS STILL A F'CKING BRICK. It's meant to do one thing and it's new American society's undaunting passion to have our fat *****es pampered and coddled that demands that trucks like this be placed in realms that they were never intended to go (with leather, heated seats, cushy carpet, noise deadening, navigation, etc.). If you need that much pulling power but can not stand to be reminded that you are actually in a truck, not your living room- buy a f'ckin Volvo semi truck or something.

Come on people.

Also... 90% of the people that buy trucks like this REALLY don't need it, its a status symbol and an image machine. The KR F250's and F350's will almost never see any more severe duty that an F150 5.4L with the heavy tow package could handle... but it does not look as cool. I can tell you that when I had my 2005 Lariat, I pulled one of my unit's 25' RBS Defender class boats on its trailer (10,000lb total weight) nearly fault free for about 2 hours. The only issue was that the brakes didn't like to stay cool from highway speeds.

I agree with your comment about them just being status symbols and not ever used to their potential. I have friends who go off and buy these big F-250's and Dodge 2500's and don't pull a thing. My buddy with the 250 drives to work 5 days a week and thats it. But yet he needs front and back ranch hand bumpers, lift, 35" mud tires, yet he won't let it even touch grass. He had a bad***** F-150 that did just fine pulling his jet ski and four wheeler, just to show everyone up he uses a cattle trailer with a gooseneck hitch to pull a 4 wheeler just so his truck is looking used lol.

Auburnfan400, thats funny man! A goosenec cattle trailer for a four wheeler?!!! Heck, he could just pull that four wheeler up in the bed with some ramps, or even buy a small 8ft expanded metal trailer.

I agree, its a "look at me" thing for most 3/4 ton owners. My best friend owns a Chevy 2500 Duramax (2006 i think) and doesnt own a trailer. My brother in law owns a 2007 Dodge 2500 6.7 cummins 4x4 and doesnt own a trailer. He doesnt even own a ball mount with a ball. He had to borrow my 17ft flat bed trailer and my ball mount to help his dad move some furnature out of storage one time. That was the only time he has towed anything with that truck.

I use my F150 4.6L to pull trailers all the time. My next truck will be a 3/4 ton gasser, just because i dont pull heavy enough to justify the diesel but have needed more payload in the past than my F150 could handle.

These bad reports are probably from diesel 3/4 owners that dont own a trailer or that think they need to own a big truck to pull 1/2 ton truck capable loads. The 3/4 ton diesel is carries the same "look at me" frame of mind that the red corvette used to hold for those "look at me" types.
I just laugh at my brother in law because he is one of these guys. "Look at me, im a MAN cause i have a DIESEL truck!!!" He spent $37k on is single cab stripped down base model Dodge 2500 cummins and i spend $28k on my supercrew XLT F150 and i get more use out of mine in a month than he will ever get from his. Oh and i dont have to roll down my windows and manually lock my doors either. If im gonna spend $37k, the dang thing better have power windows, keyless entry, tinted windows and nice wheels!
