Driveline Slack 2016 F250
I have a 2016 F250 4X4 gas, 11,000 miles. At work I back into a parking space that has a very very minor angle to it. Rear of truck is lower than front by a few inches at most. When I depart for the day and put the truck in drive there is a half second hesitation and then a minor thunk and then all is well. It does not do this when parked on perfectly level ground. The other day I was backing up to turn around and the truck was still slightly rolling backward when I put it in drive and BANG, big clunk as it appeared to take up slack. Vehicle is currently at the dealership to check this out and they say there is no problem. Any ideas?
Thanks,
Marty

I had a 2011 F-150 that would clunk at times and there was a TSB issued for this reason. Turns out that mfr did not use the correct grease on the transmission yoke so it was not sliding on output shaft. I took in my vehicle and they serviced the yoke with proper grease and never had another issue with clunking.

I'm assuming you guys are using the parking brake and have your foot on the brake while shifting into gear, right?
