Default Buying 08 V10 without Warranty

So I currently have a 2015 F-150, and my 7000 lb enclosed car trailer tends to drag the truck around. The 5.0 can keep it moving but the truck has some of the stability issues they seem prone to. I have the opportunity to get a great deal on an 08 V10 F250 CCSB with 68K that seems very clean (going to see it tomorrow). However, I have a concern as it only has the dealers 4 month warranty (and they're 2 hours away, so basically it's as-is). Should I be worried? I've never bought a vehicle without a warranty, and I know SD trucks are known for durability. Would any of you guys do it? Truck has new brakes, tires, exhaust studs (they already broke) and has a clean OASIS and Carfax report.

Seems as if the warranty is your catch... FWIW, I've never had a new vehicle, nor one with a warranty, any used car with a warranty is a plus cause where I'm at most don't have one, they are just sold as-is.

Still, I would be less focused on whatever warranty they throw in and more concerned with its condition and price.

Thanks for the quick reply. Looking it over it seems remarkably well taken care of. I just want to make sure it doesn't have a blown rear or the motor or Trans blows on the ride home. But that sounds like a longshot with the 6.8 and the Torqshift

I don't know about the newer ones, but I know the older V-10's are notorious for blowing spark plugs. I've been told they are pretty much 200k mile engines.

That was fixed around 02. No issues with the 08's to speak of.

My E350 has 224000 on it. Spit out a plug 3 times. Put a thread insert in and that was it. There are usually only the same 3 cylinders that do it. The fix works.
