I have a large number of customers who use and like the SCT sf3 3015 for the 6.0. Gains of 150 rwhp and 248 feet of torque from just a tune!

SCT and custom tunes from innovative diesel, Gearhead etc. pretty much the only way to go in a 6.0. And you may want gauges, either a gauge pod or digital monitor

Don't forget head studs to go along with that tuner

If you can afford it, get a 6.0 bulletproofing kit(studs, egr delete, gaskets, stc connectors, oil cooler etc.) and get the ford gaskets instead of the black onyx, I've read that they're inferior to the oem head gaskets.

I missed your price part, but if I were going to tune a 6.0, I'd get the Gearhead SRL tune, or get a custom one and a SCT tuner. That said, be careful, the SRL is geared toward the non studded trucks I believe, but if you push your luck, you could run into trouble.

My truck has studs and egr and oil cooler done. Any transmission trouble with the SCT?

No, the tranny tuning with SCT is pretty solid. Course, going with custom tune that's depending on who writes the tune. I've had a lot of folks switch from Bully Dog on the PS to SCT just cause of how harsh the tranny tuning was on Bully Dog but the SCT isn't like that.

Just about every person with a 6.0 that has ran a bullydog has ran into transition trouble at one point or another. They are very harsh on the 5r110 transmission. You'd think as much as they charge for their tuners they would at least put some thought into the transmission, rather than just worrying about making max power.

SCT has some good preprogrammed tunes, but if you could get someone to write a good custom tune then by all means do that!

Get an SCT and custom tunes. You can download a myriad of them. I have the Looney non studded tune and it's great. My next one will be a Super Panty Dropper from Chris at TSD. If you are studded w/egr delete then you are gtg. I'm not and am not having any problems thus far, but I don't hot rod, I just use the extra power for getting around in traffic and passing on two lane roads. I also have a couple of tow tunes too for tugging the camper and a 12k dump trailer. So far I am happy but am anxious to try some other tunes out.

Oh, and if you don't have it, you probably should also invest in a 4 inch exhaust. These tunes, at least the looney run pretty hot. You'll need to get the heat out and have a way to monitor things. I have the Edge Insight.

FWIW, I can be rolling along at about 15 mph and light the tires up. If it's wet then I can't get on it at all or I'll be all over the place. Like I said, I don't hot rod, but I did try it once...well, twice.
