Default Advice please

Hey guys love the forum I'm about to pull the trigger on a new 2014 F250 lariat. I'm trading in my 2013 F150 king ranch. For those of you with the diesel can you tell me how often you get an oil change and what do they cost. Thanks. Is there any reason I should be wary I just need more towing power and really like the truck but never owned a diesel. Also what's the range on a full tank.

I just traded my 2011 f-150 for 2014 f-250... The crewcabs come with a 26 gallon tank so depending on your driving, 300 or so miles... The diesel supplement manual says you can go 5000 miles between changes.... You'll love the diesel it's a beast

It really just depends on your driving... If you drive a lot of highway your mileage will be better... No I didn't get it

I didn't think I needed that with remote start I live in Ohio but if I can let it warm up while I'm inside I would think I'm fine. And I drive a two lane road to work mostly flat 60 miles a day.

I have had my diesel for just over a week and half now, they aren't really concerns but just things to know I will mention.

At around 200-300 miles when your driving a warning will come on saying filter cleaning has started or something to that effect its the carbon collector filter burning off the carbon its totally normal but first time I saw it I was like what is going on here haha.

You should also for the first 1000 miles not really use cruise control and dont really put the pedal to the metal, things need time to settle in.

Not sure if you know or not but you will need to put in Diesel Emissions Fluid around 5k miles the truck will tell you when its starting to run low and check your manual for approximately how much you have to fill it, the fluid runs around 5-7 dollars a gallon and takes 5 gallons I think not sure exact amount maybe someone else will chime in on this.

The one thing I am waiting to see is when do you see your true broken in mpg I heard its after a few thousand miles but im unsure. Currently I am getting 16 mpg for info purposes it should get around 19mpg based on how I drive.

Best of luck man I went from a 2013 fx4 f150 to the 2014 f350 lariat and I honestly feel this is one of the best truck moves I have ever made. The interior although not much bigger it just feels better the seat feels like a recliner to me definitely a great way to travel on long drives.

I went from a '12 F150 KR to a '14 F250 KR and I love the new truck.

Mr Cain is right, the interior is smaller which took a minute to get used too but after 5000 miles Im used to it.

TonyG, I completely agree on the seats feeling like recliners. I dont know whats so different about them, but dang it, they are extremely comfortable.

The 26 Gallon tank is the only thing I dont like about it. I do alot of traveling (70,000miles on my F150 in a year) and I hate stopping. Within the next few months, im adding the bigger fuel tank to it.
