6.8l v10
Who's got experience with them?
Are they good motors?
What sort of mileage are they getting (I'm not expecting good numbers here)?
Whats their longevity?
How do they tow?
I'm more curious in the 2008 - 2010's with the 5 speed auto.
Thanks in advance.

Not many people have them, but owners on other forums seem to love them. In a super duty, they get the same mpg as the 5.4 with way more power, especially the 3 valve. Despite only getting 11 mpg or whatever, they are probably still more economical for 90% of the people over the 6.4 diesel during that same time.
Durability wise, they have been using a detuned version in the in medium duty trucks with great success. They don't seem to have the same issues with spark plugs as the 5.4, but that may be perception as their are so few of them.
The new 6.2 is a good engine, but it is a replacement for the doggish 5.4, not the dumptruck- moving 6.8 V-10! Power and torque wise, the 3.5 tt has a very similiar curve and peak power, but they would simply not hold up in super duty and especially an F-650.
Ford needs a new-gen 6.3 v-10 based on the coyote engine to use in their next medium duty and super duty trucks as an alternate to the diesel.

Maybe to many trucks?
I personally have the 2 valve V10 in a 02 with a few mods. Personally I get better fuel MPGs then most claim.
Reliable as heck I haven't had one problem with her minus the a/c compressor is leaking in mine.
I tow all the time with ours and it does great pulled things way more then I should have also.
