V10 is a good motor but it gets horrible fuel economy, like 10-11 MPG. Now the Diesel gets 20+ MPG and has more Power and Torque than the gasser. Now a Supercharger will be more work than it is worth, I say get the turbo diesel. The 6.4L with the 6speed manual is a bulletproof combination. My dad is even looking at getting one.

We have a f450 gaser and diesel at work, and the v10 keeps up with the 6.4 diesel, but the diesel handles two pallets of flagstone and a 773 turbo much better than the v10

Not quite 20+, more like 15-18 tops, and that's even rare. But you'll have to hustle to get or find one since they stopped production on the 2010, will no longer offer manual trans for 2011, and are rare enough to make it difficult to find one on the lots since the majority came with the TorqueShift auto.

He needed to order one. I know several people in my family with these trucks that get MPG in the high teens and low twenties, still better than 10-12MPG...

Standard transmission trucks still get better MPG than their automatic counterparts...

You know people with a 6.4 that get in the low 20s? Well you need to join the diesel forums and spread the word, because people think the 6.4 is the biggest gas guzzler ever. Best I've seen in ours is 18, and people still think that is either a miracle of a lie when I tell em.

People drive like idiots, if you keep the truck in good shape and dont drive like an idiot (short shift, drive 55-60MPH, dont use A/C) you can get very good fuel economy. The six speed helps.

Would u say it could pull a 32ft trailer with bob cat and tractor decently?(being SCed). Like he is major anti diesel kinda guy, he is drving a 03 chevy 2500HD with the 8.1 votec, he was looking to get a new one for him but they dont make the 8.1 anymore, hes always like fords so he was going to get it and give the chevy to another one of his crews. ( hes not worried about mpg)

I dont think there is enough manuel trans out there anymore to many autos, I love manual over auto

Pulling that he can expect about 8mpg with the 4.88 factory gears obviously better with lower gears but I would go with the 4.88s for the towing. It wont bat an eye pulling that weight at all. Ford tests them with about 10k in the bed and pulling a 10k trailer and they scoot right along in a f550 chasis. They are pretty good motors and wind up nice and smooth.

It will pull it, but you will definitely know the trailer is there. Here is a picture of the diesel pulling a t190, but the two pallets of flag and a pallet of blasted steps were already off of it. It pulls it like its not even there, but you can definitely tell its there with the v10
