I ended up with a f150 my old boss has a f350 with the 6,2l and he said at best its getting 11mpg my new f150 with Eco boost gets 17 to 24 mpg and for what I plan to tow it will be just fine IMO if you need a super duty you clearly need the diesel.

Gas powered superdutys are for those who only need the towing abilities thanks to the weight of super duties and size of a superduty a couple times a year therefore paying the extra for the diesel motor doesn't make sense.

2012 F150 5.0 right now.
2008 Ranger
2008 F350 6.4 Screw 8' bed.....diesel's do have there problems. But *IF* you really need to tow at least once a month with a 15,000lb trailer or more then diesel is the way....Or if you just got extra money to use also.

I am getting ready to order a 2015 F350 4x4 screw 8' bed ****6.2**** because it fits my needs.....and i know better than to fall into that diesel hype like I said unless you REALLY need it.

If you really really need the diesel then it justifies it in my book.

P.S. That 5th wheel was over 16,800 lb's.

I disagree, the mpg is better and with the instability of gas prices plus almost zero nox emissions from a diesel...win.

Think about it like this,in 10 years what will hold its value? Look at a 2002 v10,maybe $6k with decent miles. 2002 7.3? I see them up to $15k with decent miles

The above ^ means nothing. Over $8000 more to buy it and thousands more than the gasser to maintain it. No thank you.........been there-done that in a 2008 F350.

I was thinking the same thing.........shoot had a 98 E350 v10 for 8 years and in 200k didn't even get to change so much as an alternator! Had a diesel also, the repair list, well No thank you covers it.

If you had a bunch of repairs with a diesel you either bought a ****ty truck or didn't maintain it.
