Default 5.4 vs 6.2 vs 6.7 in the SD

hey there
just got back from the dealer I'm up grading again
I got the 09 250 with the 5,4 xlt cc long bed 4x4
right now they offered me $28000 as trade in and the truck I was kind of looking at a bran new f350 xl base line nothing fancy cc long bed 6.2l auto
I'm looking for a camper rig to head up to the Yukon and northern b.c I look at the diesel not so sure I can justify $70,000 in one right now the gas one there setting me up with if it works out will be $43,000.
My big questions are what's the fuel / power difference that ill find
I know the diesel out does them all and may still look around.

thanks Kevin

I cant speak on the 6.7 or diesel maintenance. I had the 5.4 and now 6.2L. Where you live I would get a engine block heater no matter what engine. They offer a camper package. I prefer a 6.2L only because I cant justify the 8k engine cost/fuel cost/maintenance. If your not using the diesel for daily hauling/towing to me it is a waste. Plus diesels have to idle a lot, in winter it cant run for a long time before ever warming up. I think the 6.2 is a stronger engine than the 5.4. it all depends on the load your towing.

Which one is the BOSS again?

Edit: The 6.2 boss is a great motor. All the SD's at the mine run them apart from the 550's that still use the gas guzzling V10 garbage.

Most contractors use the 6.4 sequential and its noises and smelly.

I'm so lost with what to buy.
I'm a super duty guy 100 percent
I have a 09 f250 cc long bed 4x4 xlt 5.4
the rig I'm kind of eyeing up is
2014 f350 cc long bed 4x4 xl 6.2

am I going to notice a difference am I really up grading even know this truck is basic no power anything no lights in the mirrors for markers or turn.

what's all your opinions I'm looking at a 30 foot 5th wheel.

the truck id like is the f350 but lariat with the 6.7l but also cant afford $1500 a month payment.

I would look for a 3rd party sale, or go to car auction..You can get more bang for your buck. You might be able to get a diesel for that 5th wheel. Although I think the 6.2 could handle the camper, the diesel was made for pulling larger loads. Hold out for the right truck. Keep looking..

I would try to find a low mile 6.7 in your price range. The diesel will pull like nothing's behind it
