Default 2017 Super Duties on the road

Ford is busy road testing the new Super Duties. I wasn't able to snap a picture but counted 11 in Marshall Michigan. They were getting back on I-94 and headed westward.

They had many variations but they all really look sharp.

I don't like the way the lower end trim levels look. I thought the previous generation looked good in any trim level. The lower end models in this generation look weird wtih the grill meeting / integrating the headlights the way they do. The Platinum looks really good though. I haven't seen the more "mid" level trim levels though.

I too saw three truckloads of new Superduties enroute to Michigan in Colorado. I noticed they now have BLIS which prompted me to look at the 2016 models on the Ford site, and sure enough, NOT an option, so that confirms they are all 2017 models I saw. Wish I got some pics while I was there. I joked with my kids, think they would notice if I swapped my F150 for the F250? They were both black. All of them were King Ranch and Platinum models with Michigan Manufacturer plates so there will be at least 12 people driving some really nice big diesels.

This prompted a second question, Where the heck are they building them that they have to go through Colorado, Nebraska, Iowa, IL and Indiana? I thought they were built in Kentucky and Michigan? Did they put a line in Mexico now?

I know the F-650 and F-750 was made in Mexico, I think they have or are planning to move the production of those to Ohio. The only thing I can find on the F-250 and F-350 is that they're are made in the Valencia Assembly plant in Venezuela, but I can't imagine they make them there and ship them to the US.

I was looking at my local Ford website. Says one 2017 truck is inbound. Isn't this kind of early? I thought they did not hit the road until around September/October?

I live in northwest TUCSON and was traveling back from Phoenx a few moths ago and this truck came up on me. I wasn't sure for a few moments because everything was taped off. Looked pretty good to me and traveling with it was a new Nissan with the Diesel engine.

All Super Dutys are made at KTP in Louisville, KY with the exception of a few chasis cabs that are assembled in Ohio. Ohio also builds the 650 & 750. There have been pre-production models driving around for various testing. If I didn't have my '15 F150 I'd be buying a F250, it doesn't help that I see them everyday.
