Default 2015 F150 goodbye hello F250

Before the bashing begins I simply say I tried a 2015 F150. For me I took a chance on a first year run truck and simply hated it. Dont get me wrong there were many good things about the truck but not enough for me to keep my truck 5 or 10 years. One major problem that turned me off had been the twin turbo V6. And after trying several test drives of the 5.0 models I just couldnt find the confidence I was looking for. Those thinking of purchasing a new F150 do your research. Test drive, test drive, test drive, barrow a friends or rent for a weekend at one of the major car rentals. I wish you best of luck.

No worries man, you bought a hell of a truck with that SD in your sig. I would like a simple f250 crew in XL trim with the 6.2l gas, but my '10 screw fits in the bill for now.

Congrats.

I did almost the same thing except I went with the 6.2L Gasser w/4.30 gears, don't have the need for the diesel.
My 5.0L was a really nice truck but after I got a different toyhauler the 3.55 gears were lacking allot for towing through the Western States and I wasn't wanting the ecoboost V6.
I use to drive Ford Super Duties and they do offer a different ride/feel to them, it feels great to be back in a SD again.
Getting ready for a trip on Monday with toyhauler in tow, I'm sure my results will be completely different.

Curious which model F150 you had and if your decision was based on the fact that you tow a lot or other factors? I've wondered how much better the resale will end up being on the SD 7ish years from now. I'm considering moving to a F250 6.7 as well...and I don't tow.

I went from a 2011 5.0 RCSB STX 2wd to a 2015 6.2 SCLB 4X4 and I absolutely love the truck in my application.. I tow 99% of the time. I am not sure why one would pick the diesel over the 6.2 if not towing? One thing I have noticed , is around 1800 miles , the 6.2 "loosened" up power wise. Not stick you in the seat power like the RCSB , as it weighs 2400 lbs more but it's a great driving "TRUCK" !

A new f150 with turbo v6 equipped with tow package can tow up to around 11k. After pulling a few loads of 2x or flat sheet material (approximately 2,600-4,000) on a 20 foot trailer I knew I didnt like the v6 for casual hauls once or twice a week. But this is just based on my opinion. I have talked with other f150 owners old and new. They all have different experiences with hauls ranging between 5th wheels/ goosenecks and travel trailers. On SD resale thats all based on what the other person is willing to pay. A well kept SD can fetch top dollar after even 7-10 years which I plan to do with this truck.

Makes sense. I really don't tow much right now. But for whatever reason the SD 6.7L is still appealing to me. More than anything is maybe the lifespan of the motor. I think you're right...Seems like a well maintained SD does way better in the resale market than the F150.

Welcome to the Super Duty family!

Recently new member to that family myself. I ended up with the 6.7L because of shear luck. It was in a decently well priced 2014 King Ranch and was almost the same price as ordering a 2016 XLT loaded gasser.

I don't tow often so the 6.7L is almost wasted on me, except for the around town MPG! Love seeing 18.5 mixed. 5.0 F150 I had got around 14 mixed depending on the day.

I have a Oregon trip planned here soon. Helping my brother inlaw by towing his new TT to his family's vacation location, then towing the old one back at the end. So I'm glad I have the 6.7L as his new TT will be a big one.

I could NOT see myself in a 2015 F150. Hate the looks, the body material, the engine choices, well just about everything. All personal opinions of course. Once I saw the 2017 Super Duty pics I knew I needed to trade in my 13 F150 ASAP!
