Default 2002 PS lift question

Since I got a '10 F150, I've decided to give my ole faithful '02 SD a facelift.

Currently, I have 8" BDS springs on it, and 325/60R20's. At one time, I had 3.5" hangers on the front and a little bigger tire.

Now, I'd like to put 4.5" hangers, front and rear, and a 3" body lift, with 40's or 42's.

I've been told that there's problems with the intercooler piping, when you do a body lift, but others have said it's do-able, with a little extra work.

Does anyone have a '99 - '04 PSD with a body lift?

If all you've got is comments about how useless a lift/body lift is, go ahead and hit the back button, it's my money and my truck!

Nobody's put a body lift on a diesel?

I did talk to a guy at a local shop (that I have to buy replacement bushings for my junky BDS front springs from) and he said that he doesn't do body lifts on diesels, for two reasons.

1. no one wants to pay the labor
2. it moves the turbo CLOSER to the body, which causes it to overheat

I'm willing to pay the labor, but can't understand how moving the body up, would move it closer to the turbo ... unless I'm just looking at this backasswards.
